Tadese Teko is among single producers farmers with capacity of directly exporting his coffee. This coffee is grown in the Gedeb area of specific locality of Gotiti. The coffee in this area is very young compared to other areas of the Gedeo Zone where Yirgacheffe coffee is grown. He does the farming using his family labor. The coffee trees are planted along with the false banana, a plant normally used for food, so that the moisture in the soil is maintained normal.

This is an extra special lot for White Rose Coffee Roasters, it is our single biggest purchase from a single farm - 40 sacks of 60kg each. Transparently Traded through Algrano platform we are pleased to be supporting the farmer Tadese Teko and helping bring his coffee to Europe - there had not been enough interest to make shipping a container over until we offered to take a 40 sack lot - making moving a container look possible once smaller orders from other roasters in Europe were added in.

Konga Coffee is an Ethiopian company and exporter working exclusively with coffees from the Yirgacheffe region. It is a startup company bringing a lot of experience to the table. Takele Mamo, the founder and manager, worked for 12 years as the General Manager at Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU), the third largest cooperative union in Ethiopia. As a farmer, Takele works closely with growers who deliver cherry to many washing stations in the region and can offer to roasters a wide selection of single farm coffees. various. Konga's objective is to supply specialty coffee directly from the farmers to high end roasters across the globe. The company has an office in Addis Ababa and a primary production site at the Konga micro-region, where the wet mill is and special natural preparation takes place. We are also planning to expand the coffee sourcing locations to other areas within Yirgacheffe type coffee.
